Herewith, a miscellany of music by a handful of 17th- and 18th-century Baroque composers. The choice was informed by my teaching circumstances, hence the inclusion of solo sonatas which can serve for the study of figured bass, and the Ariadne Music which can connects forward to Bach’s Well-tempered Clavier and back to a tradition of “labyrinthine” compostions in the 16th century, such as Willaert’s chromatic duo and Phinot’s “Pater peccavi / Quanti mercenarii.” I’ll add to this as and when. Or not.
